THERE’S A NEW MINISTRY IN TOWN!

Non-denominational Wellspring Ministries opened its doors to the public on April 15, 2005. This local ministry, started by several individuals from different denominations, seeks to help homeless, low income, and disadvantaged residents of Allegany County. The organizers felt led to start a ministry that would provide food, clothing, comfort, and shelter to those who have lost their home or belongings due to fire, flood, job loss, family strife, or other circumstances. Also, many residents just  simply cannot afford to purchase clothing or household items.  Located between the Six-S Golf Course and Route 19 at 5993 County Road 16.

Wellspring Ministries is developing its ministry in stages, first opening a meal program with a free Friday noon hot meal with more days added in the next few months as volunteers increase. A clothing room is open, stocked with good used clothing from infant to XXL adult sizes. Furniture, appliances, and household items donated by community members are available to those who cannot afford to purchase their own. All items are given away free.  Friendly greetings, hugs, and words of encouragement are the norm as we reach out to people.  There is no cost to anyone seeking help; however, we do rely heavily on community donations for the many things needed to facilitate this kind of program. Wellspring Ministries is honored and privileged to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
